ACT Work Safety Commissioner
Making a difference requires everyone to contribute to making workplaces safe and reducing workplace injuries in the ACT from a figure of 19 injuries per day.
NEW SOUTH WALES
NSW Workers Compensation Commission is an independent statutory tribunal within the justice system in New South Wales. Its dispute resolution model implements the objectives of the Commission as set out in section 367(1) of the Workplace Injury Management and Workers Compensation Act 1998.
Federal Safety Commissioner – The role of the Federal Safety Commissioner is to promote and improve occupational health and safety (OHS) in the building and construction industry.
NORTHERN TERRITORY
NT WorkSafe works with companies to set safety standards to meet responsibilities under the law; explain and interpret laws and standards and by providing guidance materials; and helping meet responsibilities through workplace visits, advice, audits and inspections.
QUEENSLAND
Workplace Health and Safety Queensland – The Department leads policy development and delivers services to ensure safe, fair and productive work environments which contribute to the social and economic wellbeing of Queenslanders.
WorkCover QLD – The main provider of workers’ compensation insurance in Queensland.

SOUTH AUSTRALIA
WorkCover SA manages the South Australian Workers Rehabilitation and Compensation Scheme (the Scheme), which provides protection to workers and employers in the event of workplace injury.
SafeWork SA role is to promote and encourage safe, fair and productive working lives in South Australia by working with employers, employees, unions and industry representatives.
VICTORIA
Victoria’s WorkSafe responsibilities are to help avoid workplace injuries occurring; enforce Victoria’s occupational health and safety laws; provide reasonably priced workplace injury insurance for employers; help injured workers back into the workforce; manage the workers’ compensation scheme by ensuring the prompt delivery of appropriate services and adopting prudent financial practices.
WESTERN AUSTRALIA
WorkSafe WA – The principle objective of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1984 is to promote and secure the safety and health of persons in the workplace.
WorkCover WA is the government agency responsible for overseeing the workers’ compensation and injury management system in Western Australia
TASMANIA
Workplace Standards Tasmania works with the Tasmanian community to improve standards of safety and health in workplaces, buildings and energy infrastructure.
WorkCover provides safety and prevention including producing publications, education seminars; assisting business with an advisory service; accreditation of medical practitioners; ensuring that employers are insured and licensing of insurers.
COMCARE works in partnership with employees and employers to reduce the human and financial costs of workplace injuries and disease in the Commonwealth jurisdiction.

New Zealand’s Health and Safety Net is committed to taking an active leadership role in occupational health and safety throughout New Zealand. We are doing this in a variety of ways, through a range of projects and initiatives.
USA
Occupational Safety and Health Administration – Department of Labour to ensure safe and healthful working conditions for working men and women by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education and assistance.
National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health – The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is the federal agency responsible for conducting research and making recommendations for the prevention of work-related injury and illness.
National Safety Council – Conducts safety, health and environmental efforts at the community level, providing training, conferences, workshops, consultation, newsletters, updates and safety support materials, as well as valuable networking avenues. Located in many cities across the U.S. and in the United Kingdom, our network extends the council’s visibility and provides a local voice for advocating issues that can educate, inform, protect and save lives.

Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety – Canadahas vision: the elimination of work-related illnesses and injuries.
WorkSafe British Columbia – Canada is dedicated to promoting workplace health and safety for the workers and employers of this province. We consult with and educate employers and workers and monitor compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.

Swedish Work Environment Authority strive to reduce the risks of ill–health and accidents at work and to improve the working environment in a holistic perspective. We act to realize the public policy objective of a good and developmental working environment for all.
EU
European Agency for Safety and Health at Work – Every year in the European Union there are 5,720 fatal work–related accidents and millions of people are injured or have their health seriously harmed in the workplace. Workers and employers need to be made aware of the risks that they face and how to manage them.
